Itra-oral work is done by using a finger inside the mouth in order to better access the muscles that help us chew and move the jaw around. Chronic pain issues such as TMJD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction), headaches, migraines, bite pain, and tinnitus can be addressed and have the possibility of improving when muscles are relaxed and balance is brought back to the tissues.  If you put your finger in your ear and open and close your mouth you can actually feel the mandibular joint moving up and down, this shows how connected the structures of the jaw and the structures of the ear are. During the treatment I will wear gloves and move very slow and gently because these can be very sensitive areas to work in. The best part is that I can show you how to do self treatment at home. This is great especially for people who have chronic pain or headaches that keep them awake at night because they can apply these techniques at home to get relief and be able to sleep or function better. If you feel like this therapy could be beneficial for you please feel free to call with any questions or concerns you may have.
