Why Guided Mindfulness enhances body work

Our tissues hold on to the energy of experiences and emotions, creating areas in the body that hold more tension, get sick, or are cut off from the rest of the body and are energetically numb. Body work like massage therapy is amazing and changes the lives of people who choose to invest in their health care every day, but I have started to understand that there comes a point where the tissues need work beyond physical manipulation. If we start to practice mindfulness, meaning taking time to quiet the mind and go inside, we can start to listen to what our body is telling us and how it needs healing. As a guide I can help you understand the sensations and thoughts that come up while practicing inner awareness, and give suggestions for steps to take or what the messages from your inner self may mean. As a massage therapist I can help locate areas of the body that need extra attention and pair tissue manipulation with your mindfulness practice to get to the root of chronic pain and holding patterns.
